Lynda Tait Randle is an alto singer of southern-style gospel music and heads the Lynda Randle Ministries in Kansas City, Missouri. She is also a part of the ‘Gaither Homecoming Tour’ group.

  • Lynda Tait Randle was born on February 7, 1962, in the inner city of Washington D.C.
  • She was also raised there along with six other siblings.
  • Randle’s parents, Nathel and Maxine Tait were both Christians and taught her about the importance of Christ in life from a young age.
  • Her father drove a taxi and worked as a part-time minister.
  • Lynda attended public school till the eighth grade. Her parents enrolled her at a Christian school in Maryland, a suburb outside Washington.
  • Later, she attended Jerry Falwell’s evangelical Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Childhood Struggles :

  • Despite a firm Christian upbringing, Lynda’s older sisters strayed from that path and became victims of teen pregnancy and crack addiction as they grew up. Lynda took this hard as she looked up to them.
  • Because of how her sisters’ lives had taken a turn, Lynda made a personal vow to herself as a child that she’d be the “big sister of the world.” She went through a painful and tumultuous childhood despite being led to the religion from the age of twelve.

Marriage and Children :

  • In November 1989, immediately after graduation, Lynda married Mike Randle of Kansas City, Missouri.
  • Mike is the founding pastor of Mosaic Bible Fellowship.
  • Mike grew up on the streets of Kansas City’s inner-city & his difficult childhood gave him the experience he needed to help others who were facing the same challenges he did.
  • Now, Lynda and Mike get to minister together sometimes, with Mike speaking and Lynda singing. They have two daughters together, Patience and Faith, and live in Kansas City.

  • Lynda was encouraged to practice her solo singing ever since she was in high school.
  • Music and singing became her escape and opened many doors and opportunities for her. Her alto voice is revered, and she has shared stages with names from Andre Crouch to Gladys Knight
  • During her tour, she would be asked to mentor other people with one-on-one sessions. Her scheduling issues led her to think seriously about events.
  • After her marriage, Lynda took her music to the road and performed at churches, music festivals, and women’s conferences. It was at one of these events that Gloria Gaither noticed her in the early 1990s.
  • Later, she was invited to record an album at Gaither’s studio and soon after that performed on her first Homecoming video and became a regular over the years.
  • She remains a favorite on the ‘Gaither Homecoming’ series and videos. Her most popular songs are “God On The Mountain” and “I’m Free. In 2005, she won a Dove Award for her album, “A Tribute to Mahalia Jackson.”
  • Lynda founded “A Woman after God’s Own Heart” conferences in 2008.
  • A two-day event, “A Woman after God’s Own Heart,” reaches hundreds of women and offers dynamic speakers, outstanding singers and musicians, Christian comic relief, sacred arts performances, and incredible testimonies. The event also went international in 2011.
